Several of Niagara’s signature events have ranked in Festivals and Events Ontario’s annual list of the best celebrations in the province.

Claiming spots in the 2014 list of Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario are Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival in Port Colborne, Niagara Wine Festival in St. Catharines, Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls and Friendship Festival in Fort Erie.

Winter Festival of Lights also received an FEO achievement award for best volunteer program.

Each of the Niagara festivals being recognized this year has also made the list for several years running.

Submissions for the awards were received from FEO members in the fall and judged by an independent panel of judges in late November.

Awards were handed out Saturday during the FEO’s annual conference in Richmond Hill.
