2013-09-06 (to 2013-09-08) Niagara Food Festival in Historic Downtown Welland (FREE)

Niagara Food Festival

The Niagara Food Festival is an annual event that takes place in historic Downtown Welland. It offers fantastic food from local restaurants and food producers, celebrity chefs on the Mobile Culinary Theatre, live entertainment for all ages and much, much more.

With more than 70 food, artisan, community and market vendors, major Canadian touring acts and high-profile celebrity chefs, the 20th edition of the Niagara Food Festival promises to take The Peninsula’s Tastiest Party to a new level for 2013.

To mark the 20th anniversary milestone, organizers have raised the bar on one of Niagara’s signature events, with an expanded list of food vendors, major acts including The Trews, Wide Mouth Mason and Big Sugar, and appearances by Food Network Celebrity Chefs Chuck Hughes, Anna Olson and Danny Smiles.

This year, the Festival will see a record number of food vendors. More than 50 have confirmed this year, and excitement is brewing over food vendors joining the Festival for the first time, such as Paris Crepes Cafe, Ourrr Lobster Shack, and Tide and Vine Oysters. These new vendors will join our traditional favourites – including MT Bellies, Country Corner Market, Niagara College’s Benchmark Restaurant, Smokin’ Buddha, Rose City Pizza, the Rex Hotel and many, many more.

A record amount of people are expected to attend Saturday’s main-stage entertainment headliner, which will feature five-time Juno nominees, the legendary Big Sugar with Gordie Johnson along with Canadian blues-rock act Wide Mouth Mason, as well as local favourites Street Pharmacy and standouts from the Niagara live music scene Redline.
