This project saw the expansion of an art show into a weekend festival featuring over 100 artists and musicians and included live painting, art exhibits, a children’s area, artist trading cards, a community mural, the unveiling of a special, new permanent art collection and Perpetual Peace Project, an ongoing performance of acoustic music streamed live on the web exploring the healing powers of art and music, from a magnificent venue overlooking Niagara Falls.
The Monastery of Mount Carmel is truly a historic gem in the Fallsview District of Niagara Falls. Situated on 5 acres, the 137 year old monastery is home to the Carmelites and houses a main chapel known world wide for it’s acoustics, 3 private chapels, 2 maginificient halls, large dining room, accomodations and gift shop.
The sprawling grounds are meticulously maintained, dotted with trees and open areas perfect for taking in the view from it’s perch above the mightly Niagara Falls.
The architecture, the history, the spiritual setting make this the ideal location for the festival.
The Carmel Fine Art and Music Festival was created with the desire to showcase the spectacular and diverse artistic resources of Niagara and the surrounding area. In an effort to build on Niagara’s reputation as a major tourist destination, the festival is designed to expand that reputation to include the creative arts. Our team is comprised of local volunteer artists, musicians and supporters who work long, hard hours to produce a high caliber, comprehensive event that has an appeal to a vast audience.
